Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that frequently precedes the development of allergic rhinitis or asthma. This condition is significant due to the financial and quality of life impact on patients and their families. The disease affects more than 10% of children.

Atopic Dermatitis can disrupt school, family and social interaction and can cause sleep deprivation due to the night time exacerbation of pruritis.

Recent studies have demonstrated the complex interrelationship of genetic, environmental, skin barrier, pharmacological, psychological, and immunological factors that contribute to the development and severity of AD.

To book appointments for patients with Atopic Dermatitis, please call 410-550-0503.
