Cosmetic Dermatology
The Johns Hopkins Cosmetic Center at Green Spring Station is a multidisciplinary
clinic involving dermatology and plastic surgery with an emphasis
on skin rejuvenation and cutaneous laser surgery. We are a full
service cosmetic, surgical and therapeutic center, with a strong
focus on laser and light technologies for the skin. The expertise
of the dermatologists at the Cosmetic Center is built on a foundation
of excellence in general dermatology. The Center accepts patients
of all ages with general dermatology problems.
Johns Hopkins Cosmetic Center at Green Spring Station offers state-of-the-art
cosmetic dermatology services. Facial chemical peels, including
TCA peels and glycolic acid peels, are available to help improve
facial wrinkles and sun damaged skin.
Also available to improve facial wrinkles are injectable fillers,
including Collagen™.
Botox Cosmetic™ injections offer a simple, nonsurgical means
of improving frown lines on the forehead as well as "crow's
feet" around the eyes.
Botox Cosmetic™ is also injected into the axillae or the palms
for hyperhidrosis.
Sclerotherapy for small spider veins on the legs involves the injection
of a solution into the vein and results in disappearance of these
unwanted blood vessels. Cosmetic removal of moles and other lesions
on the face and body is also performed.
The Cosmetic Center at Green Spring Station offers a complete array
of dermatologic laser services, including laser removal of age spots,
spider veins, some birth marks, tattoos and other unwanted skin
lesions, laser resurfacing for wrinkles and facial scarring and
laser hair removal.
Patients interested in a cosmetic dermatology procedure are seen
in consultation and individually assessed to determine the optimal
means of achieving their desired goal.
Each patient discusses their cosmetic concern with the dermatologist
so that together they can decide on the best solution for their
problem.
